Retaining Walls

Tight Access Earthworks builds retaining walls in difficult places, often inaccessible to large equipment.

Builders and construction workers need a clear and properly prepared site to commence their work so it's important for us to be able to excavate a site and leave it in a workable state for the tradesmen to commence work straight away. With that in mind we ensure that the site is as close to spotless as possible upon completion. To start a new project on a site that is uncleared can and will delay construction and hinder the acceptance of building permits. It is a challenging activity that must be dealt with before any retaining wall project can begin in earnest and we fully understand that time is money so we do our best to ensure our excavations are done in a timely and cost effective manner.

Locate all underground services

Before clearing the site starts, we make sure we know the exact location of any underground electrical cables, gas lines, water, sewerage and telecommunications cables. You can't always rely solely on site plans and drawings as these are sometimes not accurate or complete. When necessary we will seek assistance from the local services and distribution companies.

No job too big or too small

TAEW can excavate all types of retaining wall preparation and excavation jobs. No job is too little, or too big. We ensure the site is properly cleared so that any construction work that will follow on will be able to get underway unhindered.

Excavation Process

The excavation process starts with us clearing the area. This means vegetation and topsoil gets removed to expose the soil below. We take the utmost care to ensure that no damage is done to your property through the operation of our equipment. Our machines are built to access confined and difficult to get to spaces so there is little risk of your intended site being inaccessible.
